Quand les agences de voyages snobent les voyageurs de demain

Dix étudiants de la Sorbonne ont mis en compétition des agences en ligne et traditionnelles ainsi que des comparateurs, dans le cadre d’un tour du monde. Une enquête terrain pleine d’enseignements.

Les agences de voyages physiques sont notamment des expertes en billetterie aérienne, et ont développé des qualités d’écoute et de conseil. C’est ainsi que je les présente aux étudiants, en tant qu’enseignante, dans le cadre de mes cours de tourisme à la Sorbonne. Mais au-delà de la théorie, qu’en est-il de la pratique ?

Les élèves de la promotion 2013/14, inscrits en 2e année de Magistère relations internationales et action à l’étranger, n’avaient jamais poussé les portes d'une agence. Le projet de tour du monde d'Aline, l'une des leurs, nous a donné l’occasion de tester grandeur nature les qualités théoriques des professionnels et des sites dédiés au voyage. La boucle choisie, avec départ de Paris le 15 mai 2014, et retour le 15 janvier 2015, prévoyait 5 étapes à des dates précises : La Paz, Melbourne, Bangkok, Addis-Abeba. Dans le cadre d’un devoir maison, chaque élève a du interroger une agence classique en face à face, et un site (une agence en ligne, un comparateur, un site d'alliance aérienne). Boiloris, Thomas Cook, Selectour Afat ont fait partie du banc d’essai*. Go Voyages, eDreams, Easyvols aussi. En complément, nous avons consulté, toujours en client mystère, le site de billetterie aérienne Darjeelin.
